L.  May Mummert, 100,  of Chambersburg, Pennsylvania  passed away January 20, 2019  at The Shook Home in Chambersburg.  She was born on July 14, 1918  in Lemasters, Pennsylvania  to Aaron  and Catherine (Rotz) Meyers.  She was a graduate of the Lemasters High School, Class of 1936.  May was a homemaker but worked for a time at the H.J. Heinz Co., retiring in 1977 when the plant closed.  She was a longtime member of Norland Chapter #3261 AARP.  She was a faithful member of  Brandts Church of the Brethren.
     May married Ross Mummert March 11, 1941 and they spent their first year together farming in Letterkenny.  They then moved to Lincoln Way West where they spent the remainder of their married life together until Ross passed away in 1999.
     May is survived by her two sons: Jay (husband of Joanne) of Chambersburg and E. Alan (husband of Marcia) of Denver, PA; grandchildren Sheila Mummert of Wisconsin, Elise Mummert of Bowmansville, Jonathan (Rebecca) Mummert of Reamstown, Janelle (Chad) Hissong of Limerick, PA, Jason (fiance Kim) Mummert of Chambersburg, Jenae (Dave) Schnabel of Boonesboro, MD.  Also blessing her life were her great-grandchildren: Solana, Ben, Killian, Abigail, Dylan, Caleb, Ava, Liam, Lily, Tucker, Tegan, Brooklyn and Braxton.  She is also survived by a sister-in-law, Martha Meyers of Greencastle, PA and a number of nieces and nephews.
     Preceding her in death  in addition to her husband was her infant son, Richard, three brothers; Earl, Myron and Marvin and a sister, Ruth Wentling.
     Funeral services will be held Saturday January 26, 2019 at 1:00 PM at the Brandts Church of the Brethren, with Rev. Roger Myers officiating.  The family will receive friends from 11:30 till 1:00 PM at the church.  Interment will follow in St. Thomas Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorial contributions be sent to Brandt's Church of the Brethren, 8003 Brandt's Church Rd., St. Thomas, PA 17252. Kelso-Cornelius Funeral Home, Chambersburg has been entrusted with conducting the funeral.
