John Brindle Obituary

John W. Brindle, 51, of Chambersburg, Pennsylvania, passed away March 23, 2024. He was born on June 22, 1972  in Chambersburg, Pennsylvania  to Jack W. Brindle and Janice H. (Upperman) Stoy. He was commander of the 17th Pennsylvania Volunteer Calvary. The unit was a member of Birney's Brigade, where he was in charge of their calvary. He was a re-enactor in the French & Indian War, World War II and Wild West Cowboy. John was a member of the St. Thomas American Legion, AMVETS and the Moose. He was also an Eagle Scout. 

 

John is survived by his mother, Janice (wife of Rick) Stoy, father Jack Brindle, ex-wife and friend Angela Jamison, significant other Angie "Shy" Andrews, aunt Matilda "Tillie" Stine and his beloved cat Peaches. He was preceded in death by his best friend and mentor Ron McClure, both paternal and maternal grandparents. He was especially close to his grandmother, Ada Upperman. He was also preceded in death by numerous aunts and uncles. 

 

John was an organ donor and gave the gift of life. 

 

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 30, 2024, at 2:00 PM at Kelso-Cornelius Funeral Home, Ltd., Chambersburg. There will be a visitation from 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM, also at the funeral home.

 

In lieu of flowers , memorial contributions may be made to the funeral home to offset funeral expenses.
