Shirley Kay Jacobs, 77, of Mercersburg, Pennsylvania passed away April 4, 2024 at York Hospital. She was born on September 20, 1946 in Mercersburg, Pennsylvania to Lloyd and Stella (Welsh) Hornbaker.
Shirley spent her life residing in Mercersburg and St. Thomas, Pa, graduating from James Buchanan High School, working at Sagner Sewing in McConnellsburg, Pa then onto South Mountain Restoration Center in Fayetteville, Pa, finishing her career path with Grace Ministries caring for residents at Griffith House in St. Thomas, Pa. She enjoyed playing bingo and casino slots, family trips to the beach, and most of all spending time with her friends and family.
Shirley is survived by her husband Bruce Jacobs, daughter Bridget Goshorn-Beck married to James R. Beck, granddaughters Ariel Clipp married to Zachery Clipp and Allegra Beck, her son Michael Shew, granddaughter Abigail Kessinger, and her son Jeffrey Conley married to Frank Conley, her step-children Bruce Jacobs and his wife Lisa, grandson Levi Jacobs and wife Kierstyn, Alice Jacobs Chamberlin and husband Steven, grandson Zachary Gamble, Luke Chamberlin, Boaz Chamberlin, granddaughter Alyssa-Jean Chamberlin. Great grandchildren Harlan Aby, Grayson Aby, London Shaffer, Aylynn Cornet, Aspen Shaffer, Elijah Jacobs, Harper Clipp. In addition to her parents, Shirley was preceded in death by Miracle Chamberlin.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, May 5, 2024, from 1:00 PM until 4:00 PM, at 4683 Heckman Drive, St. Thomas, PA, 17252. Shirley enjoyed being outside, the flowers and colors, so it is only fitting that we celebrate her life outside, picnic style. Please join us and share in celebrating her life.
