Alice Lehr Palmer, 78, of Chambersburg, Pennsylvania, passed away November 16, 2024, at home with her family by her side. She was born May 7, 1946, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, to William Joseph and Alice Lehr.
Alice worked as a registered nurse, receiving her nursing degree from the Women’s Medical College in Philadelphia. She worked in the ICU, CCU, and ER, and was the nursing director of the emergency room at the Women’s Medical College in Philadelphia . She also helped set up the cardiac rehab service at Geisinger Medical Center.
Alice loved being with her husband, Michael, no matter what they were doing. Taking care of and being with her family was something that she cherished. She enjoyed cooking, driving fast, volunteering, spending time with friends and helping others in any way that she could.
Alice is survived by her husband and best friend of nearly 53 years, Michael Palmer and three beloved daughters; Bret Palmer Beynon, Brittany (Venkat Rajagopalan) Palmer, and Brooke (Trent Gaugler) Palmer. She is also survived by five grandchildren whom she adored; Ella Rose, Oliver Quinn, Otis Lehr, Paxton Arjun, and Peyton Ajay, as well as one sister, Dolores Lehr. In addition to her parents, Alice was preceded in death by two siblings; Nancy Egan and William Lehr.
A service will be held on Thursday, November 21, 2024, at 11:00 AM, at Kelso-Cornelius Funeral Home, Ltd., Chambersburg with Fr. Benjamin officiating. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Alice’s name may be made to Go Red for Women. Go Red for Women has been fighting for women’s heart health and health equity for 15 years.
