Arthur Carl Straley

Arthur Carl Straley, 91, of Fayetteville, Pennsylvania was received into the hands of Jesus on August 22, 2023. He was born on September 4, 1931, in Williamson, Pennsylvania to Arthur and Barbara (Bennett) Straley. Carl built many homes in the Fayetteville and Chambersburg area. He was an avid golfer, enjoyed baseball and gardening. Carl enjoyed hunting at his cabin in Clinton County with family and friends. He loved snowmobiling in the Adirondacks in Old Forge, New York for over 40 years. 

Carl is survived by his wife of 72 years, Pearl V. (Armstrong) Straley, daughter, Sharon (wife of Dean) Hershey of Shippensburg, four grandchildren; Ryan (husband of Catherine) Straley of Harrisburg, Lori (wife of Shaun) Smith of Fayetteville, Kelly Gruver of Shippensburg and Jessica Hershey of Shippensburg, and eight great-grandchildren; Bailey Maple of Chambersburg, Ty Smith of Fayetteville, Jaidyn Kennedy, Brinley, Bradley, and Dylan Gruver of Shippensburg, and Carter Hershey and Xander Hill of Shippensburg. In addition to his parents, Carl was preceded in death by a son, Greg Straley, as well as two sisters and one brother. 

A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, September 5, 2023, at 7:00 PM at Kelso- Cornelius Funeral Home, Ltd., Chambersburg, with Pastor Robin Baer officiating. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service. The family requests the omission of flowers.
