Audrey Gayle (Harvey) Stake

Audrey Gayle (Harvey) Stake, 85, of Waynesboro, PA, passed away on Friday, October 6th, 2023, at her residence in Quincy Village, Waynesboro, PA. Born August 23, 1938, in Washington, PA, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Gladys Harvey. Audrey was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Ronald E. Stake in July of 2013.

Audrey is survived by her children Sherri, Robyn (Tim, decd.) and Brian (Rhonda), her grandchildren, Ronna (Chad), Chase, Amanda, Holly, Jesse (Kristen), and Mackenzie as well as 11 great-grandchildren.

Audrey grew up in Parkersburg, WV and graduated from Parkersburg High School in 1957. Following high school, she worked with the Bureau of Public Debt as a key punch operator. In 1960, she flew to California with her best friend, Sharlene. There, she met Ron, her husband-to-be, and they married on May 7, 1961. They later settled in Fayetteville, PA. Audrey was a loving daughter, wife, mother, and grandmother, and a sweet homemaker. She was a member of the St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church and loved singing in the choir with her friends. She had a beautiful soprano voice. In the later years after retirement, Audrey and Ron spent time traveling and taking annual vacations in Maine and West Virginia.

A memorial service will be held at the Kelso Cornelius Funeral Home, 725 Norland Avenue, Chambersburg, PA 17201 on Wednesday, October 11th, 2023, at 6:00 pm. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Spiritrust Lutheran Hospice and Homecare or to the loving nurses and aides who took care of her at the Quincy Village Colestock Facility.
