Berniece A. (Edwards) Shearer, 86, of Chambersburg, entered into Heaven on May 21, 2025. She was born May 17, 1939, in Robertsdale, PA, to Robert and Glenola (Grissinger) Edwards. She graduated from Robertsdale High School in 1957 and then went on to work in the Pipe Factory in Ohio. She returned home to work in bookkeeping for Modern Home Appliance in Chambersburg for 43 years. Berniece was well known for cooking for family gatherings. She was especially known for her fruit salad, pickled eggs and pumpkin pie. She also enjoyed gardening. 

Berniece is survived by her husband of 38 years, John Shearer Jr., son Randy (husband of Lori) Shearer, grandchildren; Hunter (Carmen), Gunnar (Riley), four great-grandchildren and nephew Raymond (husband of Rena) Edwards. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother Stuart Edwards.

 A funeral service will be held on Thursday, May 29, 2025, at 1:00 PM, at Kelso-Cornelius Funeral Home, Ltd., Chambersburg, with Chaplain Ricky McCarl officiating. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at Salem Cemetery.
