Bertha Marie Mackey, 103, of Shippensburg, Pennsylvania and formerly of Chambersburg, passed away June 18, 2022 at Shippensburg Health Care Center. She was born on March 28, 1919 in Blairsburg, Iowa to William and Nellie (Shields) Mullenix. She had worked at the Stanley Company as a seamstress. She loved her children and grandchildren. She loved playing bingo. She was a member of Freedom In Christ Church, where she sang solos. She was a very kind and loving person.
She is survived by her five children: Floyd (husband of Donna) Mackey of Waynesboro, Paulette Zeger of Ft. Myers, FL., Donald (husband of Erin) Mackey of Kinsley, MI., Robert (husband of Rita) Mackey of Shippensburg and Jackie (wife of Thomas) Watson of Chambersbug. She is also survived by fourteen grandchildren and a number of great and great-great granchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Floyd Paul Mackey Sr., a son, Bertram Mackey, several grandchldren and great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted Thursday at 1:00PM at the Freedom in Christ Church, Chambersburg with Pastor John Pogue officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow in Parklawn Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to the Freedom in Christ Church, Chambersburg, Pennsylvania.
