Beverly Clevenger Obituary

Beverly “Bev” M. Clevenger, 77, of Mercersburg, Pennsylvania passed away on Monday, January 22, 2024, peacefully at her home surrounded by her family. She was born on February 15, 1946, in Chambersburg, Pennsylvania to the late Harry and Ceda Gordon.

Bev is survived by her husband of 55 years Harold "Shorty" Clevenger, two daughters, Tammy (wife of Frank) Barto of Greencastle, PA and Nicole (wife of Michael) Myers of Palmyra, PA, grandchildren, Danielle Barto, Ryan (husband of Morgan) Barto, Joshua Myers and Jacob Myers and great-grandchildren Avery Rhoades and Tanner Barto. She is also survived by a brother, Lannie Gordon of Mercersburg, PA and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister Bonnie (wife of Donald) Sixeas.

Bev was well known and adored in Mercersburg.  Over the years, she owned a home hair salon, drove a school bus, and owned a home tanning salon-all of which created fun and lasting memories for so many, young and old.

Bev and her husband, Shorty, had a permanent camp site at Saunderosa for numerous years where they laughed and enjoyed friends around the campfire and took rides on their golfcart.  Laughter was never in shortage when around Bev.  She had the best sense of humor and the most incredible, contagious laugh.

There are so many memories of Bev, but the fondest memories will always be that she faced all things in life with strength and love in her heart while wearing the most beautiful smile on her face.  She has left the most positive impact on those that loved her and knew her well.  Her legacy will live on forever in our hearts, reminding us all to laugh, love and enjoy every moment to its fullest.

At Bev’s request, there will be no viewing. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
