Brian K. Hanson, 66, of Chambersburg, Pennsylvania passed away peacefully on March 16, 2024 at home. He was born on September 7, 1957 in Johnstown, Pennsylvania to Raymond and Patricia (Small) Hanson.
Brian was a Mack Truck restoration enthusiast. He collected Mack Truck memorabilia. He was beloved in the antique truck community, belonging to several truck clubs, notably; American Truck Historical Society, Antique Truck Club of America, Mason Dixon Chapter, Old National Pike Chapter, Steel Valley Chapter and Shenandoah Valley Chapter. Brian retired from PennDot as an equipment operator.
Brian is survived by his wife Kayann Hanson, children Bryan Fant, Jillian Johnson (Michael Ramos) and Bobbi Bibbs (Willie), beloved grandchildren; Rebecca, Parker, Rachel, Claire, Kiara and Mason. He is also survived by a brother, Donald (Teresa) Hanson and a cousin who was like a brother, Daniel Espey, as well as one niece and three nephews. In addition to his parents, Brian was preceded in death by a sister, Terrie Kipe.
“I’m not sure that the world makes men like Brian anymore. You could always count on him to bring some humor or wisdom at just the right time. And he was a man of many talents. He could fix or build anything he put his mind to. He was strong, but also humble. Wise, but also a prankster. He would never turn anyone away who needed help.”
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 23, 2024, at 1:00PM at Kelso-Cornelius Funeral Home, Ltd., Chambersburg with Pastor Jeremy Feight officiating. There will be a visitation on Friday, March 22, 2024, from 6:00 until 8:00 PM, and for one hour prior to the service on Saturday, both at the funeral home. Interment will be held at Brechbill Cemetery. With Brian being a simple and humble man, the family wants everyone to know they are welcome to dress casual.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Brian's name may be made to the Make-A-Wish foundation, or to the Cumberland Valley Animal Shelter - two organizations that were very important to him.
