Carlos Erausquin, 88, went home to be with the Lord on June 3, 2026, with his wife by his side. Born in Puerto Rico on May 22, 1938, he moved to New York City as a young child and grew up helping support his family.

 

Carlos proudly served his country in the United States Navy as an Electrician’s Mate and later continued his military career in the Coast Guard Reserve, retiring as a Senior Chief after many years of dedicated service. He also worked for the Federal Aviation Administration Technical Center in New Jersey, overseeing electrical aspects of government projects.

 

At age 19, Carlos gave his life to Christ, and his faith remained the foundation of everything he did. Throughout his life in New Jersey, Florida, and later Pennsylvania, he faithfully served in his churches and was known for his kindness, generosity, and willingness to help anyone in need. He truly never met a stranger and was always ready to offer encouragement, conversation, or prayer.

 

Carlos enjoyed classic western movies, classic cars, home improvement projects, and shrimp in just about every form. He especially loved serving others, whether through his church, community, or family.

 

He was preceded in death by his wives, Casilda and Dorothy, and by his son, Emmanuel. He is survived by his beloved wife of nearly 50 years, Joanne; his children, Carlos Jr., Lyzette, David, Matt, and Mary; his siblings; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren who will cherish his memory.

 

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, June 10, 2026, at 1:00 PM, at Life Point Church in Chambersburg. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service. Interment with military honors will be held on Thursday, June 11, 2026, at 10:30 AM, at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, 60 Indiantown Gap Rd, Annville, PA 17003 (Exit 85B off I-81).
