Carol Ann (Deimler) Garling Obituary

Carol Ann Garling, 81, of Chambersburg, PA, passed away May 31, 2026. She was born January 15, 1945 in Harrisburg, PA, the daughter of Ray and Rosella (Taggart) Deimler. She attended Messiah College where she met her husband, Ronald. Carol enjoyed going on cruises, dancing, and spending time with her family. Ron and Carol were members of several dance clubs. They are members of the Antrim Brethren in Christ Church. Carol began her career teaching kindergarten in Greencastle, PA. Later, she taught as a substitute teacher for Lincoln Intermediate. She then worked as an activity director for several nursing homes, before retiring from Menno Haven Retirement Village. 

 

Carol is survived by her husband of 60 years, Ronald Lee Garling. They have two children, Rhonda Garling, wife of Chris Boanes of York, PA and Rodney, husband of Deb (Myers) Garling of East Berlin, PA. She has two grandchildren, Trevor Garling and Katelin Garling. Carol is also survived by two sisters, Rosella (Deimler) Rosener married to the late Byron Rosener and Deborah (Deimler) Jury, married to Brian Jury. 

 

A celebration of life will be held at Antrim Brethren in Christ Church, 24 Kauffman Road East, Chambersburg, PA 17202 on Saturday, August 8th at 2:00 pm. Lite meal served after. 



In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Carol's name may be made to Heavenly Paws Animal Shelter, 3678 Aldinger Rd, Seven Valleys, PA 17360.
