Carolyn S. Apple

Carolyn Sue Apple, 76, of Chambersburg, Pennsylvania passed away August 8, 2021 at Chambersburg Hospital.  She was born on August 22, 1944  in Radford, Virginia  to Edwin  and Evelyn  (Bartuka) Hornbarger.  She enjoyed her flowers, especially her roses, spending time with her grandchildren, and spoiling her cat, Suki.  She had retired from IBM in Bethesda, MD where she had worked as an executive secretary for 20+ years.  
     She is survived by her two daughters:  Nancy (wife of Marc) Pacchioli of Barnesville, PA and Pamela (wife of James) Birgfeld of Chambersburg.  She has nine grandchildren;  Brittany, Hannah, Emily, Austin, Jamie, Luke, Matthew, Josiah,  and Sam.  She is also survived by a brother, Dale (husband of Margaret) Hornbarger of Germantown, MD. and a number of nieces and nephews.  In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her son, Jay Apple in 2010.
     Funeral arrangements are private and at the convenience of family.  Kelso-Cornelius Funeral Home, Ltd., Chambersburg has been entrusted with conducting the services.
