Carolyn Diane Martin, 75, passed away on Friday, March 27 at Chambersburg Hospital. Born on November 19, 1950 in Chambersburg, PA Carolyn was the eldest child of the late David Henry and Ruth Virginia (Martin) Martin. She was raised on a dairy farm and could drive a tractor from the time she was four. She was a 1968 graduate of Chambersburg High School. Carolyn, a lifelong resident of Chambersburg, owned Highlander Laundromat, was known as the T-shirt lady selling printed T-shirts and most recently a tax preparer.
Carolyn cherished spending time with her granddaughter, Emma. A farm girl at heart, she loved country music, dancing, flower gardening, birdwatching and going fishing at Assateague Island.
She is survived by her two sons, Joel D. and Joshua A. Martin and her granddaughter, Emma Paul Martin. Her surviving brothers and sisters are Cedric (Tammy) Martin, Jeniece (John “Bob”) Ruth, Jeffrey Martin, and Twyla Johnson. She was preceded in death by a brother, Timothy L. Martin, Sr., a nephew, Shane M. Martin, Sr., a sister-in-law, Dianna (Fisher) Martin, and brother-in-law, Ricky Johnson.
A graveside service will be held on Thursday, April 2, 2026, at 2 PM, at Green Hill Cemetery in Waynesboro. Immediately following the services there will be light refreshments at Hoover House in Waynesboro.
