Deborah Kay Appenzellar Obituary

Deborah Kay Appenzellar, 73, of Chambersburg, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully on April 1, 2024 at Chambersburg Hospital. She was born on November 1, 1950 in Chambersburg, Pennsylvania to Richard Peters and Betty (Kump) Peters Bietsch. Deborah was a member of Beta Sigma Phi. She volunteered for Daffodils for Cancer with the American Cancer Society. She worked for Beltone Hearing Aid Center for many years. Her and her husband, Richard, were executive directors at a 55+ community in Palms Estates in Lorida, Florida. After retirement, they returned home to Chambersburg, Pennsylvania.


Deborah is survived by her husband of 53 years, Richard L. Appenzellar, two sisters; Kathy Harmon of St. Thomas and Cynthia Shuey of Sebring, Florida, as well as multiple nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to her parents, Deborah was preceded in death by her son Mark A. Appenzellar.

 

At Deborah's request, there will be no services. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Corpus Christi Catholic School, 305 N. 2nd St., Chambersburg, PA, 17201.
