Mrs. Debra Mae Baker, 65, of South Mountain, PA (Fayetteville) passed away in her home of natural causes on Thursday, March 31, 2022.
Born on November 15, 1956, in Waynesboro, PA., she was the daughter of the late Clarence T. Hess and Dorothy L. (Mowen) Hess. Deb lived her entire life in South Mountain. She worked from her early adult life at the South Mountain Restoration Center. She was a registered nurse when she retired. She was the wife of Ricky C. Baker for 35 years before he passed away.
Deb always enjoyed traveling with her family. Ocean City, MD was a favorite family vacation spot for many years. She went on many bus trips with her companion Eugene Richardson before his passing. She saw many beautiful islands, oceans, and mountains with her many beloved friends.
Her grandchildren are Evan Baker and Chelsea Baker. They are the joy of her life and they will remember so many wonderful cherished times together for the rest of their lives. She is also survived by a daughter, Lori N. Baker, and a son, Rick O. Baker, both of Waynesboro, PA. She is survived by a brother, Dennis L. Hess (Linda), of South Mountain, PA, and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Deb is preceded in death by her husband Ricky, and one sister, Norma J. Hess.
A service for Deb will be held at the family's convenience. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Antietam Humane Society, 8513 Lyons Rd., Waynesboro, PA 17268.
