Denise R. Heinbaugh Obituary

Denise R. Heinbaugh, 64, of Chambersburg, Pennsylvania passed away peacefully on October 22, 2025, in her home surrounded by her family. Denise was born November 16, 1960, in Chambersburg, Pennsylvania.  She was the daughter of Linn R. Yaukey and Marilyn (Divens) Yaukey. She is survived by her husband, Dennis Heinbaugh and their three daughters; Daneen Morrison (Matthew), Devyn Heinbaugh, and Darlanna Meckley (Justin); and her seven grandchildren: Piper Morrison, Wyatt Morrison, Sawyer Morrison, MaraLynne Dorsheimer, Dylan Meckley, and McKenzie Meckley.

Denise was a 1978 graduate of Chambersburg Area Senior High School. She then went on to Wilkes University and earned her Nursing Degree. She served many years as an intensive care nurse and administrator at Washington County Hospital. She served in a multitude of roles throughout the years of her life, all with the intention of helping others.

Denise was a Dance Mom and Dance Grammy, working at the studio and watching her family dance through season after season at Clarissa’s School of Performing Arts and later in life as a spectator of the show watching her granddaughters take the stage.

Denise was a crafter, who could create anything she set her mind to. Whether it was painting, sewing, scrapbooking; she had a way of making something beautiful out of anything.

Denise was a cook, who loved creating dishes for her husband and family. Pouring her love into everything she made.

Denise was a shopper! In the store or online, Denise loved the art of shopping! Christmas was her favorite holiday season and her love of shopping went hand in hand with the holiday.

Denise loved being a Grammy; she always wanted to create memories with them: beach trips, book clubs, watching swim lessons, hearing about every splinter or lost tooth, and loving on them in any moment she could.

Denise loved to crank the music up and sing along; next time the song ‘Pink Pony Club’ is playing, do a shimmy for her.

Denise had many loves, and in her heavenly journey we know she will be eating all the lemon ice cream she can handle, crunching ice like it’s a job, sipping on Diet Pepsi fountain drinks, and watching Dante’s Peak or Jurassic Park on repeat. There will be no bananas ever in her presence, and she will never need to experience heat and humidity ever again.

Graveside services will be held at 2 PM on November 3, 2025, at Lincoln Cemetery in Chambersburg, Pennsylvania. Arrangements are taken care of by Kelso Cornelius Funeral Home.
