Dennis E. "Ope" Oberholzer Obituary

Dennis E. "Ope" Oberholzer, 71, of Chambersburg, Pennsylvania passed away peacefully at home on November 27, 2023, with family by his side. He was born on February 13, 1952, in Waynesboro, Pennsylvania to Glen and Elsie (Statler) Oberholzer. Dennis built and raced dirt track cars. He worked at Manitowac for 40 years. Dennis attended Central Presbyterian Church. He loved his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. 


Dennis is survived by his loving wife and soulmate of 49 years, Donna (Rupert) Oberholzer and children Tara Oberholzer (significant other Michael Klingerman) Shoemaker, Sybil Oberholzer (wife of the late David L.) Bowermaster, grandchildren Tristen Shoemaker and Galen (significant other Rylie Lorshbaugh) Oberholzer, great-grandchildren Asher Unger and Khoen Oberholzer. He is also survived by a sister, Darlene Hurst and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents and son-in-law, he was preceded in death by his mother-in-law Ruth Rupert.
