Donald G. Clippinger, 80, of Chambersburg, Pennsylvania passed away March 26, 2023 at York Hospital. He was born on June 3, 1942 in Baltimore, Maryland to Gill and Mary Jane (Sheffler) Clippinger. After graduating from Kenwood High School in Baltimore, Maryland in 1960, Donald was in the US Navy and was stationed in Hawaii for two years. He worked at Grove Manufacturing Company for 33 years. Donald was a member of Park Avenue United Methodist Church in Chambersburg for 57 years and was a trustee, usher and sang in the choir. He was a member of the Inter Church Bowling League for 40 years and enjoyed crossword puzzles and reading. He also enjoyed going on trips with his grandchildren.
Donald is survived by his wife of 54 years, Darlene (Strait) Clippinger, children Annette (wife of Barry) Sheeder and Brian Clippinger, grandchildren David and Diana Sheeder, brother Paul L. (husband of Nancy) Clippinger of Jacksonville, Florida, three nieces and two nephews. In addition to his parents, Donald was preceded in death by a brother Harold R. (husband of Judy) Clippinger of Leesburg, Virginia.
A funeral service for Donald will be held on Friday, March 31, 2023, at 11:00 AM, at Kelso-Cornelius Funeral Home, Ltd., Chambersburg, with Pastor Bruce Levy officiating. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service. Interment will be held at Hartman Memorial Cemetery in Hustontown, Pennsylvania.
