Donna Louise Betts Shields, passed away at Quincy Village on November 8, 2024. Born June 24, 1937, in Aitch, Pennsylvania. She was the daughter of the late Edwin S. and Olive (Hess) Betts.
Donna enjoyed hunting, fishing, dancing, baseball, football and tractor trailer rides with her husband. She was a member of the Fort Loudon Women’s Auxiliary, post 606.
Donna was employed by Bingham’s Orchard and the Ft. Loudon sewing factory.
Donna is survived by her husband of 69 years, James Shields. They were married on December 24, 1955. She is also survived by daughter Cindy A. (Shaun) Werdebaugh, and son, Rodney C. (Cheryl A.) Shields. Donna has two grandchildren, Sandra K. Booher and David (Victoria) Hostetter, two step grandchildren, Jason Barkdoll and Amy Watson, three great grandchildren, Ryan Ferguson, Hudson and Mattis Hostetter. And two great great grandchildren, Liam and Kaius Ferguson. Donna is also survived by her brother Edwin Betts, brothers-in-law, Eugene (Cindy) Shields, Marlin (Linda) Shields, and Ronald (Sharon) Shields, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by siblings Allen Betts, Marlin Betts, Magaret Baker, sister-in-laws Peggy Shields and Catherine Betts.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, November 15, 2024, at 12:00 PM, with Pastor Dale Lehman officiating at Kelso-Cornelius Funeral Home, Ltd., 6492 Lincoln Way W, St.Thomas. The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM until 12:00 PM, also at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Parklawn Memorial Gardens.
