Edward B. Piper Jr. Obituary

Edward Piper, Jr., 84, of Chambersburg, PA, passed away April 3, 2026. He was born February 4, 1942, in Chambersburg, PA, the son of Edward Sr. and Betty (Monn) Piper. Edward retired from American Can/James River. He was a soft spoken man, but his care for his family spoke louder than words. He was a talented musician, playing various instruments including accordion, harmonica, guitar and keyboard. Edward was an avid hunter and fisherman. He and his wife enjoyed riding their motorcycle. He loved to tell jokes to many people that he would come in contact with. He enjoyed interacting with people and selling ham sandwiches from his food concession trailer. He also enjoyed many years of camping and boating. 

 

Edward is survived by his wife of 64 years, Glova (Green) Piper; children, Rick Piper and wife Tammy, Troy Piper and wife Holly and Patty Bishop and partner Jason; 9 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, and two brothers, Jeff Piper and wife Jackie and Steve Piper and wife Roberta. In addition to his parents, Edward was preceded in death by a son, Timothy Piper and sister Susan Piper. 

 

A viewing will be held on Thursday, April 9, 2026, from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM, at Kelso-Cornelius Funeral Home, Ltd., 725 Norland Ave, Chambersburg, PA. Inurnment will be held on Saturday, April 11, 2026, at 11:00 AM, at Parklawn Memorial Gardens in Chambersburg. 

 

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Edward’s name may be made to the Mt. Vernon Christian and Missionary Alliance, 1710 Coldsmith Rd, Shippensburg, PA 17257.
