Elizabeth "Betty" M. Irwin, 89, of Chambersburg, Pennsylvania passed away July 3, 2024. She was born on September 16, 1934  in Venus, Pennsylvania  to Thomas and Dorthea (Glass) Slye.

 

Elizabeth loved God and taking care of her husband and family - these were the most important things in life to her.

 

Elizabeth is survived by her loving husband of 68 years, James A. Irwin. She is also survived by their children; John Irwin (wife Lori), Tami Harness (husband Monford), Laura Keebaugh (husband Randy Nixon), Kathi Hickey (husband Wayne), and Carol Federoff (husband Ted).

 

She is survived by all of their grandchildren: Opal Irwin, James Harness (wife Sasha Boyer), David Irwin, Keith Hickey, Alex Hickey, Angela Hickey, Derek Nixon (wife Shawnna), and great-grandchildren: Jordan Irwin, Blaine Nixon, Payton Nixon, and Laila Lynch.

 

She is also survived by her siblings: Sally Whitehill, Edwin Slye (wife Carol), Thomas Slye (wife Patty), and Kim Slye (wife Phyllis). 

 

Elizabeth was preceded in death by:  her parents Thomas Slye and Dorthea Glass Slye; her sister Shirley Prokuski,  and her brother Theodore Slye.

 

Services will be private and at the convenience of the family.

 

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Memory of Betty Irwin to the Menno Haven Benevolent Fund.
