Ethel Reeder Obituary



Ethel Pauline Reeder, age 94, passed away February 13, 2014 at Manor Care. She was born August 28, 1919 in Six Mile Run, PA to the late Paul and Bessie (Raker) Foreman. Ethel was married to Ray Reeder in 1954 and was the last surviving member of her high school class. She attended Juniata College for music, was a piano instructor for many years, played for several church functions, and played for Jean Stapleton at the Christian Scientist Church in Chambersburg. She was a member of the King St. United Brethren Church in Chambersburg and the Methodist Church of McConnellsburg.

Ethel is survived by her husband of 59 years, Ray, her three children; daughter, Julie A. Cross and son-in-law Ted of Chambersburg, PA, son Russell Reeder Jr. and daughter-in-law, Barb of Utah., and daughter, Donna Truett of Chambersburg. She is also survived by her grandchildren; Shari High, Mark High, Torri Erikson, Cobey Cross, Taneil McWane, Nathan Reeder, Natausha Reeder Griffin, Justin Reeder and 6 great grandchildren.


Funeral services will be held on Thursday, February 20, 2014 at noon at Kelso-Cornelius Funeral Home, Ltd. at 725 Norland Ave., Chambersburg, PA with Rev. Andrew Paszkowski officiating. A visitation will be held on Thursday from 10:00am-noon. Interment will be held at Parklawn Memorial Gardens. Memorial contributions can be made to American Cancer Society.
