Frances Jane Rotz, 85, of Chambersburg, Pennsylvania passed away Dec. 25, 2018 at Chambersburg Hospital. She was born on Dec. 17, 1933 in Chambersburg, Pennsylvania to George F. and Clara E. (Hovis) Crider. She was the widow of the late Harold L. Rotz, who died Feb. 19, 2014. She had worked for the Chambersburg Area School District as a cook for 26 years. She is a member of Air Hill Brethren In Christ Church, where she had been a Sunday School teacher for many years, a member of the Hospitality Committee, Sewing Circle and a volunteer for the Released Time Bible Program.
She is survived by her three children: Glenda (wife of Ric) Schroedel of Chesapeake, VA, Nelson (husband of Melanie) Rotz of Fayetteville, and Dena Bigler of Shippensburg. She has four grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Harold L. Rotz, a grandson, Douglas Witter, and two great-grandchildren; Caleb and Joshua Park. She was preceded in death by her four siblings; Sarah Reeder, Anna Mary Smith, George Crider Jr., and Howard M. Crider. Frances was lovingly raised in the home of her aunt and uncle, Anna Jane and Abner Hartman and their two daughters, Pearl Antinozzi and Dorothy Tosten.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held Saturday, Dec. 29 at the Air Hill Brethren in Christ Church at 11:00 AM with the Rev. John Melhorn officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be sent to Camp Joy-El, 3741 Joy-El Drive, Greencastle, PA 17225. The family would like to acknowledge Harold's siblings and the neighbors for their help and care of their mother since the death of their father.
