Freddie Harrison Jr., the fourth child and first son born to the late Freddie Harrison Sr. and Rudell McPhail Harrison, was born on Tuesday, January 29, 1952, in Darlington, South Carolina. 

Freddie lived and grew up in South Carolina. Graduating in 1970 from Rosenwald High School in Society Hill, South Carolina.  After graduation Freddie joined his family in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania.  Shortly after relocating Freddie enlisted in the United States Army and was honorably discharged.  After his tour of duty ended, Freddie returned to Harrisburg, PA.  He worked at various companies.  He was a Jack-of-All-Trades.  He worked as a mechanic, taxi driver, warehouse laborer, and store clerk at Giant Food Store.  He relocated to Chambersburg, PA for a short time before making Martinsburg, West Virginia his home for the last 20 years.  In West Virginia, Freddie lived, loved and was surrounded by his veteran community, family and friends.

Jesus Christ was Freddie’s foundation, taught by his parents.  Love was a building block also, and he showed it to his family and friends. Especially his parents, sisters Retha and Julianne.  He was never a stranger.  Everyone knew him and he knew them.  He loved to skate.  He loved to ride his bike.  He loved to take walks in the park.  He loved to drive his car and give people rides.  He loved to play pool.  He loved his cheddar cheese and honey buns.  He loved him an ice cold Pepsi.  He liked watching old TV shows.  He loved to play solitaire with cards and on his phone.  He also loved his nunchakus and karate.  

Freddie left his earthly home for eternity on Thursday, February 13, 2025, while at his home. Joining his parents; sisters, Retha Harrison Tucker, Julianne Harrison; brothers-in-law, Jimmie Hendrix and James Henderson; his nephew, Sheldon Tucker; nephew-in-law, Gerald Clark; great-nephews, Barquette Harrison Jr. and Isaiah Green; and his special friend, Elizabeth Harris.  Freddie is survived by his sisters, Dorothy Harrison Hendrix of Harrisburg, PA, Alice Harrison Henderson of Salisbury, NC, Lilia Harrison (Sylvan) Wallace, Olivia Harrison Jordor and Terry Harrison all of Chambersburg, PA; his brother, Major Harrison of Philadelphia, PA; and numerous nieces, nephews, family and friends. 

Freddie’s burial will be held at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, 60 Indiantown Gap Rd, Annville, PA 17003 on Friday, April 11, 2025, at 1:30pm.  His family and friends will have a Celebration of Life on Saturday, April 12, 2025, at the Franklin Fire Company, 158 W. King Street, Chambersburg, PA 17201.
