Galen E. Burkholder

Galen E. Burkholder, 82, of Chambersburg, Pennsylvania passed away peacefully at home with his wife of 61 years by his side on August 19, 2023. He was born on September 10, 1940, in Chambersburg, Pennsylvania to Irvin and Ruth (Wingert) Burkholder.

Galen was a faithful member of the Emmanuel Fellowship Church of Edenville since 1968. He was the founder and owner of Burkholder's Woodworking. He loved the Lord and enjoyed spending time with his family. 

Galen is survived by his wife Ruby (Gayman) Burkholder, children Michael (husband of Mary Ann) Burkholder of Friedens, PA, Luke (husband of Heidi) Burkholder of Fredonia, KY and Joel (husband of Bonnie) Burkholder of Chambersburg, 19 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren and sister Janet Byers. In addition to his parents, Galen was preceded in death by a sister, Evelyn and her husband Tom Rock, a brother-in-law Ray Byers, and two grandchildren Keturah Burkholder and Angelina Burkholder

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, August 23, 2023, at 10:00 AM at the Portico River Brethren Meeting House, 5501 Fort McCord Rd, Chambersburg, PA 17202, with the ministry of the Emmanuel Fellowship Church officiating. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, August 22, 2023, from 2:00 till 4:00 PM and 6:00 till 8:00 PM at the Portico River Brethren Meeting House. Interment will be held at Brechbill Cemetery. The family requests the omission of flowers.
