Born on September 27, 1934, in Harrisonville, PA, she was the daughter of the late Merrill and Cleo Hill Kline. Her beloved husband, Noel Y. In Genevieve’s younger years she worked at U-Wanna-Wash Frocks Company in Shippensburg. In her later years, she worked at Hamilton Heights Market for almost 20 years, where she enjoyed meeting and serving members of the community.
Genevieve was a devoted wife, mother, sister, aunt, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great grandmother and friend. She lived a life rooted in faith, family, and love. Her strong faith guided her throughout her life and was reflected in the kindness, compassion, and strength she shared with others.
She found happiness in life's simple pleasures and especially cherished time spent with her family. Genevieve enjoyed sewing, word-searches, puzzles, watching basketball, gardening, and canning the fruits of her hard labor. She was also a devoted fan of Johnny Cash and enjoyed listening to his music throughout the years. She was happiest when surrounded by those she loved, and family gatherings brought her great joy. Whether celebrating holidays, sharing meals, or simply spending time together, she treasured every opportunity to create lasting memories with her family.
She was a faithful member of St. Thomas United Methodist Church, St. Thomas Assembly of God and later attended Spirit of Christ Community Church, and Mission Hill Church.
Genevieve is survived by her children: Vivian (Barry) Carr and daughters, Melanie Smith and Mandi Carter; Duane (Gina) Schooley and their children, Noel (Kelly) Schooley, Lauren (John) Byers, and Cameron (Erika) Schooley and daughter Nora; Vanessa (James) Kuntz and daughters, Ashleigh (Derek) Mann and Gabrielle (Ryan) Weatherholtz; and Diana (Michael) Urban and their son, Alec Urban.
She is also survived by her cherished great-grandchildren, Brandon Smith, Victoria Smith, Kyle Davis, Cole Davis, Karissa Davis, Harper Schooley, Camille Weatherholtz, Brecklyn Mann, Lincoln Byers, Bruce Weatherholtz, and Carson Byers; as well as three great-great-grandchildren. She was also blessed with step-grandchildren, Bella Schultz, Dawson Mann and Madison Mann.
In addition to her parents and husband, Genevieve was preceded in death by her brother, Charles Kline; and her half-brother, Donald Lake.
Though she will be deeply missed, her family and friends find comfort in the many treasured memories and in the assurance of God's promise of eternal life.
The family would like to express their deepest gratitude to the staff at Magnolia’s of Chambersburg for their kindness, support and compassion that was given to our mother during her time there.
