Gerald Dayton Mellott, 70, of Hagerstown, Maryland passed away January 5, 2021 at Meritus Hospital in Hagerstown, MD. He was born on August 7, 1950 in Chambersburg, Pennsylvania to the late Paul and Dorothy (Locke) Mellott. After the Navy, he worked for Letterkenny Army Depot, retiring with over 40 years of service. He was an Optical Technician and Union President. He was passionate about music, he played in many different bands. He liked antiques and he loved his family.
Gerald is survived by Joyce A Mellott, wife of 41 years; by his daughter, Jodi Lem (Husband, Jody) of Cotopaxi, CO and step-daughter Robin Richmond (Husband, Mark.) He is also survived by 3 sisters Julie Neil, Janice Gray Mellott and Tamara Frittz. In addition, he has 4 grandchildren, 4 great grand children and numerous nieces & nephews. His parents preceded him in death; as well as a sister Joyce A. Whitney.
