Glenn Schaeffer Friese, 95, of Chambersburg, went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Thursday, November 18, 2021. Born March 15, 1926 in Letterkenny Township, he was the only son of the late Frank and M. Catherine (Schaeffer) Friese.
Throughout his life Glenn was employed at various jobs. In his early life, he worked for the Chambersburg Hospital in the maintenance department. He also worked at a local sawmill, several orchards, and more recently at Kenny's auction. He was a member of the Mt. Olivet United Brethren Church. He loved being outdoors and enjoyed hunting and especially yard and garden work. He also enjoyed woodworking.
Glenn was preceded in death by his wife of 70 years, Betty Jane (Myers) Friese, who passed away on October 28, 2021. They were married on February 7, 1951.
Surviving are his 6 children; Glenda Sipes (husband Dennis) of Lemasters, Gary Friese (wife Nancy) of Chambersburg, Catherine Mallek (husband Thomas) of Shippensburg, Carol Ann Helfrick (husband Dale) of Mercersburg, Timothy Friese of Greencastle, and Patricia Rodgers (husband Michael) of Greencastle; 22 grandchildren and 29 great grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, November 23, 2021 at Parklawn Memorial Gardens in Chambersburg. The Rev. Ronald Cook will officiate.
