Helen L. Martin, 101, of Chambersburg, Pennsylvania passed away Nov. 2, 2021 at Brookview Nursing Home. She was born on November 30, 1919 in Chambersburg, Pennsylvania to Reuben and Katie (Lehman) Lehman. She loved to quilt, write short stories, singing, and her family. She retired from The Stanley Company. She was a member of Pleasant View Mennonite Church where she served faithfully as a Sunday School teacher. She and her husband served as deacons at Shady Pine Mennonite Church and helped establish the church.
She is survived by her four children: Dale (husband of Loretta) Martin of Waynesboro, Eldon (husband of Betty) Martin of Chambersburg, Freda (wife of Marlin "Butch" Neil of Chambersburg, Evelyn Runk of Spring Run, and a daughter-in-law, Harriet Martin of Philadelphia. She has ten grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren, and six great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by a brother, Vern Lehman, who just turned 100. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Larry Martin, a son-in-law Joseph Runk, and a great-grandson.
Funeral services will be conducted Saturday Nov. 6, 2021 at 1:30PM at the Pleasant View Mennonite Church with Rev. Dale Martin officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow in the church Cemetery. Kelso-Cornelius Funeral Home, Chambersburg has been entrusted with conducting the services.
