Herman L. Zeger

Herman L. Zeger,94,  of Ft. Loudon, passed away November 14, 2021 at Chambersburg Hospital.  He was born on January 1, 1927  in Mercersburg, Pennsylvania  to William  and Ida  (Kadel) Zeger.  He retired from Letterkenny Army Depot.  He served in the US Army during WW II serving in Japan.  He loved the outdoors and hunting.  He was a lifetime member of the Mercersburg Sportsman, where he had served as President, Vice President or director for many years.  He was a member of Ft. Loudon Methodist Church.  
     He is survived by his three children:  William (husband of Linda) Zeger of Mercersburg, Katena (wife of Dave) Fries of Marion, and Randy (husband of Sherri) Zeger of Lemasters.  He has four grandchildren:  James Martinelli, Tawnya Hall, Anthony Lawson, Brandon Zeger and six great-grandchildren.  In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Thelma Hanks Zeger, a daughter, Janet Lawson, and a grandson, Gerald Martinelli.
     The family will receive friends Thursday from 9:30 AM till 10:30 at the Kelso-Cornelius Funeral Home, Chambersburg.  Graveside services will follow at 11:00AM at Stenger Hill Cemetery, Ft. Loudon.  Online condolences may be expressed at www.kelsocorneliusfh.com.
