James Nevin Dale Jr Obituary

James Nevin Dale Jr., 67, of Fayetteville, Pennsylvania, suddenly passed away on October 23, 2024, after fighting and overcoming many health challenges.

Jim is survived by his daughter, Leslie A. (Dale) and Son in Law, Dan DeMott. Grandchildren Douglas and Laurel DeMott, a sister, Karen (Dale) Cunard, husband Jeff and many lifelong friends. He is preceded in death by his beloved parents, James N. Dale Sr. and Maude V. (Wilkison) Dale and Aunt Rhoda M. Wilkison.

Jimmy was born on October 29, 1956, in Chambersburg, Pennsylvania. A 1974 graduate of Chambersburg Area Senior High School. Throughout his life he enjoyed his family, golf, gardening, cooking, and was an avid fan of the Steelers and Yankees. He followed in his father’s footsteps becoming a member of BPOE 600, Chambersburg Elk’s Club and enjoyed many meals at the VFW.

Jim worked as an Assistant Manager at both Weis and Cressler’s grocery stores. He was an Account Manager for 14 years at The James F. Havice Co where he won many sales awards taking him and Karen on many trips to the Bahamas, St Thomas, Jamaica and Disney World to name a few.  He then worked for McLane and retired as a Store Manager for the Liquor Control Board.

His greatest joy was spreading love by cooking a great meal for others featuring the most delicious steaks, and for many years Christmas cookies.

Please attend and share memories of Jim at a visitation on Friday, Nov. 1st from 2pm-3pm, followed by a memorial service at 3pm at Kelso-Cornelius Funeral Home, Ltd., 725 Norland Ave. Interment will be private at Norland Cemetery.
