James Frederick Storey, Jr., 60, of Greencastle PA, passed away December 19, 2024. He was born March 26, 1964, in Columbus OH, to the late James Frederick and Evalyn Marguerite (Stankler) Storey.

  “Jamie” grew up moving around the country with his parents and sister. He was fondest of his time in Milwaukee WI where he spent most of his childhood making close friends and happy memories. There, he graduated from high school. His time in Boy Scouts along with camping in the family pop-up camper fostered a love of animals and the world of nature-especially trees.

  Jamie’s creativity and incredible talent took these interests and developed them into his career as a custom woodworker making furniture, built-ins, trim work and solving problems most woodworkers would not tackle.

  He loved many pets throughout his life from salamanders, rabbits, the family goat “Maddie”, Boxer dog “Brandy”, and finally “Cat” who came to Jamie’s home adopting him.

  Jamie stayed intrigued by reading, beekeeping, spending time as an arborist, understanding flora & fauna, model rocketry, woodworking with his Dad, brewing beer, vintage 2-seater cars, and the Green Bay Packers. In his daily life, Jamie looked forward to a nightly game of Jeopardy and would’ve made a formidable contestant. His favorite thing, though, was a relaxing day with the sunshine on his face.

  Jamie is survived by his sister Susan (Storey) Tegethoff, brother-in-law, Scott Tegethoff, and nephew Sean Storey Tegethoff of Carlisle PA, as well as many cousins.

  A celebration of Jamie’s life will be held in the spring, appropriately around his birthday.
