James C. Sword, Sr.

James C. Sword, Sr., 82, of St. Thomas, Pennsylvania passed away August 21, 2023, at home. He was born on June 2, 1941, in St. Thomas, Pennsylvania to Cris and Beulah (Guyer) Sword. Jim graduated from James Buchanan in 1958. He joked that he graduated in eleven years because there were only two students in his class one year. He was a farmer and a jack of all trades. He enjoyed family friends and neighbors, outdoor "gardening", good stories and laughs, butchering for family and friends, and Gunsmoke. 

Jim is survived by his wife, Jacqueline (Rockwell) Sword, children; Sandra (wife of Richard) Cordell, James (husband of Peg) Sword Jr., Jeffrey (husband of Ginger) Sword and Gerald (husband of Robin) Sword, step-children; Lita (wife of Tim) Kuhns and Jason (companion of Carrie Chilcote) Peck grandchildren; Tara, Ashlea, Jamie, Wesley, J.D., and Nick step-grandchildren; Genevieve, Levi, Jordan and Katie and great-grandchildren; Brycen, Sophia, Camilla, Xavier, Alijah, Fernando, Ayden, Riley, Ava and Eli. In addition to his parents, Jim was preceded in death by his first wife, Vivian "Bib" (Thomas) Sword.

A funeral service for Jim will be held on Saturday, August 26, 2023, at 11:00 AM at Kelso-Cornelius Funeral Home, Ltd., 6492 Lincoln Way W., St. Thomas. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service. Interment will be private and at the convenience of the family.
