Jay Edward Grove, 81, of St. Thomas, PA, passed away January 11, 2026 at Mercy House of Chambersburg. He was born July 15, 1944, in Chambersburg,PA, the son of Garnet L. and Rachel (Burkholder) Grove. 

 

Jay is survived by his wife Evelyn I. (Heckman) Grove, children, Julia Ann (wife of Curtis) Mummert, Joel Richard (husband of Carey) Grove, Jeffrey Scott (husband of Tracy) Grove; grandchildren, Sean (husband of Taylor) Mummert, Justin Mummert, Janiece (wife of Bryce) Hawbaker, Levi Grove, Ty Grove, Garrett Grove; great-grandchildren, Sophia Mummert and Carson Hawbaker; brother, David (husband of Fay) Grove. 

 

A funeral service will be held on Friday, January 16, 2026, at 11:00 AM, at St. Thomas Assembly of God, with Pastor Josh Baldwin officiating. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at St. Thomas Cemetery. 

 

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Jay’s name may be made to Mercy House, 730 Norland Ave, Chambersburg, PA.
