Jefferey P. Aldrich of Chambersburg, PA, passed away on Friday, May 9, 2025 from complications following a double lung transplant at Temple University Hospital in Philadelphia. He was born on January 12, 1958 in Fremont, OH, the youngest son of the late Clair E. and Doris Fowler Aldrich. He lived in Oak Harbor, OH until the age of eight when his dad was transferred to Letterkenny Army Depot. He graduated from CASHS in 1976.
Jeff’s work career spanned over 40 years. He worked in Bldg 370 at Letterkenny as a wiring and cable harness assembler from 1979 until the depot downsized in 1999. He then worked for Industrial Harness and beginning in 2001, he was hired by Northrop Grumman Corporation, a Defense Contractor, as an electrician assembler in Hagerstown, MD and eventually at their facility in Sykesville, MD. He truly enjoyed his work, building components for aircraft carriers and submarines. He retired in May 2021 after 20 years of service.
Jeff was a dedicated family man who possessed an excellent work ethic and moral character. He was proud to serve his community as a member of the Franklin County Shrine Club, Zembo Temple Shrine, George Washington Lodge 143 F. & A.M., Cumberland Valley Hose Company No. 5, Burt J. Asper American Legion Post 46, Landis-McCleaf Marine Corps League, and AARP. He could do anything around the house and he especially loved caring for his lawn and doing yard work. He also enjoyed working in his shed, reading, traveling, watching DIY shows, movies and crime shows. An avid John Wayne fan, Jeff owned every movie The Duke ever made that was in print.
Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife, Ann (Thompson, Estep) Aldrich, whom he married April 4, 1998, his son, Jordan Aldrich and his partner, Mindy Chambers, Denver, CO., his daughter, Heather Campbell and her husband Andrew, and granddaughters Arlee and Layton Campbell, all of Chambersburg, and his step-daughter and step-grandson, Emily Estep and Amin J. Butler, Jr., Fort Myers, FL., He is also survived by two sisters, Deb Aldrich of Ocean View, DE, and Lisa (Allen) Frantz of Chambersburg. He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers, Dave (1971), Randy (2019), and Don (2019).
Jeff’s memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 31, 2025 at 1:00 p.m. at St. John’s UCC, 1811 Lincoln Way East, Chambersburg, PA 17202 with Rev. Caroline Saxton officiating. The family will greet friends after the service in Fellowship Hall where light refreshments will be served. Private inurnment will be at Parklawns Memorial Garden at the convenience of the family. The family requests that flowers be omitted from his service. Memorial contributions can be made to The Franklin County Shrine Club, 22 Strickler Avenue, Waynesboro, PA 17268, earmarked Children’s Transportation Fund.
