Joann Carolyn Brechbill, 88, of Chambersburg, Pennsylvania, passed away November 15, 2024. She was born August 29, 1936 in Chambersburg, Pennsylvania to John C. and Hazel P. (Garvin) McKenzie. She was a member of St. John's United Church of Christ in Chambersburg. 

Joann is survived by a son, Michael E. (husband of Theresa) Brechbill of Williamsport, MD, two grandchildren, Jessica (wife of Steven) Linden of Jeannette, PA and Amanda (wife of Cody) Zane of Strafford, NH, siblings Marjorie Dale and John Craig McKenzie. In addition to her parents, Joann was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years Harry Nelson Brechbill who passed away June 4, 2021, siblings Lois M. Horst and Anna Karen Harry. 

Joann loved her family, her granddaughters were her joy and she was present for so many of their milestones. Joann was a long time member of St. John’s Choir and also enjoyed crafting, gardening, cooking and spending time with family and friends. She and Nelson enjoyed RVing, seeing much of the US and spending their winters in Florida. 

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, November 23, 2024 at 11:00 AM  at St. John's United Church of Christ, Chambersburg with Rev. Caroline Saxton officiating.  The family will receive friends Friday evening from 6:00 till 8:00PM at Kelso-Cornelius Funeral Home, Ltd., Chambersburg and one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will follow in Grindstone Hill Cemetery, Chambersburg.
