John E. Reeder

John E. Reeder, age 83, passed away September 16, 2015 at his home with his family by his side. He was born May 25, 1932 in Mercersburg, PA to the late Fred and Hattie (Custer) Reeder. He was married to Catharine Ganoe Reeder. He was self -employed contractor for 50 plus years and in late retirement he worked for Tidy Glo Commercial Cleaning. John was an artist in woodworking and masonary. He was passoniate for hunting, beekeeping, a huge fan of little league baseball. In addition to his wife, John is survived by one daughter; Judy Hornbaker, Ft. Loudon, PA, one son; Daryl Reeder, Ft.Loudon, PA, one step-daughter; Julie Hamil, Ft. Loudon, one step-son; Tony Daley, Mercersburg, PA, 8 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren. John is also survived by 8 brothers and sisters. He was preceded in death by his parents and 6 brothers and sisters, and an infant daughter. Funeral services will be held Monday September 21, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at Kelso-Cornelius Funeral Home, Ltd. 6492 Lincoln Way West, St. Thomas PA. with Rev. Paul Martin officiating. A visitation will be held from 10:00-11:00 a.m. prior to the funeral service at Kelso-Cornelius Funeral Home, Ltd.., St. Thomas. Interment will be held at Stenger Hill Cemetery. In lieu flowers the family requests memorial contributions may be made to: Lutheran Home Care & Hospice 2700 Luther Dr., Chambersburg PA 17201. Kelso-Cornelius Funeral Home, 6492 Lincoln Way West, St. Thomas, PA will be handling the arrangements.
