John R Rock

John R. Rock, age 87, of Chambersburg, passed away February 2, 2015 at Menno Haven. He was born October 1, 1927 in Chambersburg, PA to Clarence and Ruth Rock. He was married to Beatrice Hartman Rock on May 27, 1978. John had worked for the federal government as a refrigeration mechanic in Yuma, Arizona. He is a member of St. Paul’s United Methodist Church in Chambersburg all of his life. He was a Navy Veteran of WWII. He was a life member of the VFW Post 1599, life member of the Amvets Post224, and a life member of the American Legion Post 46. He is survived by his wife: Beatrice L. Hartman Rock, his two daughters: Marietta (wife of Jerry) Boaz of Arkansas and Lorena (wife of Joseph) Albuit of Solon, Maine, three step-daughters: Candace (wife of Richard) Cook of Chambersburg, Carla (wife of Donald) Haller of St. Thomas and Donna (wife of Terry) Ericson of Chambersburg. He is survived by a number of grand and great-grandchildren. He is survived by a sister, Josephine Nye of Mechanicsburg. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by four sisters and one brother, a son and a grandson. Services will be held at a later date to be announced. Kelso-Cornelius Funeral Home, 725 Norland Ave, Chambersburg, PA will be handling the arrangements.
