John E. Sheppard Obituary

John Edward Sheppard, 72, of Chambersburg, PA, passed away peacefully on November 17, 2025, at the Chambersburg Hospital. He was born on January 13, 1953, in Baltimore, MD, the son of William E. and Florence L. Sheppard.

John met Cindy in 1980, and they married in 1982. He was employed at Catons Plumbing for 35 years, where he received recognition and multiple awards for work ethic.

John was very passionate about his horses, fishing and his black powder pistols. He would spend weekdays working and weekends fishing with his kids, doing everything he could to catch frogs that they wanted so badly, just to make them smile.

John and Cindy were married 43 years. He was very passionate about being a provider for his family. He would always make sure he could get everyone to laugh, and was a proud husband, father, and #1 Pop Pop.

John was preceded in death by his mother and father, as well as by a brother William Sheppard and sisters; Florence Sheppard (Giles) and Jacqueline Parsons (Kellum). He is survived by his wife, Cindy Sheppard, children; Brooke Hughes, April Leasure, Krystle Harmon, John Sheppard and Amber Sheppard, along with many grandchildren who gave him that title of #1 Pop Pop.

At John’s request, there will be no services. Kelso-Cornelius Funeral Home, Ltd., has been entrusted with these arrangements. Online condolences may be expressed at www.kelsocorneliusfh.com.
