Julie K. Smith, 62, of Quincy, Pennsylvania passed away January 20, 2024 at Chambersburg Hospital. She was born on March 16, 1961 in Waynesboro, Pennsylvania to Carolyn and the late Lennard Staley. She graduated from Liberty University in 1983 with a degree in Secretarial Science. She worked in the Chicago area for 19 years as an executive secretary at Kraft Foods, Quest International and worked in human resources at Motorola. She returned to the Waynesboro area in 2003.
She married the late Irwin "Tim" Smith in 2004. She was then an executive secretary at Hershey foods and then worked at Franklin County Children in Youth until retiring on disability in 2015. She fought various health conditions for the last 8 years.
Julie is survived by her mother, two brothers Daniel Staley and Eric (husband of Jeanette) Staley, all of South Mountain. She is also survived by nieces Emily Staley and Rebecca Naugle, nephews Richard Bollinger, Talon Morrill and Branden Riley, as well as great-nieces and a great-nephew, Annika, Mya and Harlan. She was preceded in death by her father, her husband, and one brother, Lennard Staley, II.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 9, 2024 at 10:30 AM, at the South Mountain Bible Church. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Foundation For Sarcoidosis Research, 320 W. Ohio St., #300, Chicago, IL 60654.
