Kathleen E. Cook, 77, of Gettysburg, passed away peacefully at Senior Commons at Powder Mill, on November 9, 2024. She was born on November 11, 1946, to C. David “Bud” McCullough and Marie (Eckert) McCullough.
Kate held a variety of jobs throughout her life but found the greatest joy in the jobs where she could express her artistic side. She had her own shop in Hanover many years ago, Katydids, where she hand-painted every item. She later worked as the Visual Merchandising Coordinator at Boyds Bears and at Lark, both in Gettysburg. She was also the manager at the Elks Lodge in Hanover for many years.
She made every holiday special, especially Christmas, and made everything sparkle at the holidays. Her beautiful smile and personality will be deeply missed.
She is survived by her husband Harold Cook of Gettysburg, daughter Christine M. Orndorff of York, sons Travis A. Motter (Emily) of Portland OR and Michael D. Motter of Gettysburg, and step-children; Denise Hilliard (Dan) of Gettysburg, Matthew Cook (Chris) of Carlisle and Chad Cook (Karen) of Frederick. She is also survived by grandchildren Madeline K. Motter, Jack M. Motter, Cora M. Cook, Connor J. Cook and Colin D. Hilliard, as well as sister Sally Mopsick (Ron) of Howell NJ, Joel Riddlemoser (Brother-in-Law) of Mcknightstown, and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters Deborah Riddlemoser and Pamela McCullough.
