Kelly Marie (Flythe) Trageser, 56, of Chambersburg, Pennsylvania, passed away suddenly on Monday, April 14, 2025. Born on June 3, 1968, in Chambersburg, Kelly's life was filled with deep love, big laughs, and fierce devotion to her family. Her passing came far too soon and has left all who knew her heartbroken.
Kelly is survived by her loving mother, Donna Flythe (Gary Sr.), of Chambersburg. She also shared a deep and lasting bond with her siblings: Corey (Kara) of Dover, PA; Gary Jr. (Tanyel) of Harrisburg; Anthony of Chambersburg; Clifton (Laylonnie) of Ohio; and Shelby of Chambersburg. Together, they created a lifetime of memories filled with laughter, love, and unwavering support.
Family was everything to Kelly, and she was a devoted mother to her three beloved sons: Brett Trageser, Bryce Trageser, and Barrington Flythe, all of Chambersburg. Kelly’s love continues to shine through her cherished grandchildren, Arianna Trageser and Brett Trageser Jr., who brought endless joy to her life.
Also mourning her loss is her longtime partner, Kirk Taylor, of Chambersburg, who stood by her side and brought her years of love and companionship. Lastly, she will be fondly remembered by a host of nieces and nephews, as well as many cousins, aunts, uncles, and lifelong friends who will also miss her deeply.
Kelly was preceded in death by her beloved father, Gary “Butch” Flythe Sr., a guiding presence whose memory she held dear. She is also reunited in peace with her paternal grandparents, Sara Flythe Lewis, Joshua Lewis, and William Flythe; her maternal grandmother, Ruth Koehler; and her precious granddaughter, Bryleigh Rae Trageser, whose brief life left an everlasting imprint on the hearts of her family.
A proud graduate of Chambersburg Area Senior High School, Class of 1986, Kelly later attended Hagerstown Business College. She worked for Sprint, CenturyLink, and Embark before retiring. In her free time, Kelly loved playing bingo, cards, and skill games — always up for a little friendly competition and a lot of laughs — but nothing meant more to her than time spent with family and friends. Kelly will be remembered for her beautiful smile, her contagious laugh, and the way she could bring fun and light to any room she entered. Her legacy lives on in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing her.
A celebration of Kelly’s life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in her memory to the American Kidney Fund or the National Kidney Foundation.
