Kenneth (Ken) Brechbill, 88, of Chambersburg, formerly of St. Thomas passed away Monday, November 22, 2021 at the Chambersburg Hospital.
Born November 6, 1933, he was the son of Harry H. and Grace Brechbill.
He served in the US Army from 1954 to 1956 during the Korean Conflict. He farmed in the Saint Thomas area for 14 years, then became a full time painter for 40 years.
He was a member of West Side Bretheren in Christ Church. He served on the board of the Bear Valley Water Authority. He was a member of the American Legion, Dietrich-Brechbill post. He was a member of the Mt. Parnell Lions Club for 56 years serving on the membership committee and introduced many new members to Lionism. He received the Lion of the Year award and the Melvin Jones Fellow award.
He is survived by his wife Shirley and three children; Stephen (Jennifer) Brechbill, Tina (Roy) Shank, and Patti (James) Beckner, four grandchildren; Cody Shank, Corey Shank, Clayton Beckner, and Olivia Kim, and eight great-grandchildren. Ken is also survived by his sister Martha Meyers and a brother Harold Brechbill. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Helen Meyers and Evelyn Reese.
Funeral services will be conducted Monday, Nov. 29, 2021 at 10:00AM at the West Side Brethren in Christ Church, Chambersburg, with Pastor David Kent officiating.Interment will follow in St. Thomas Cemetery, St. Thomas, PA.
