Larry Dexter Colbert, Sr., 68, of Chambersburg, PA, passed away May 27, 2026. He was born February 20, 1958, in Chambersburg, PA, the son of the late Richard Jr. and Nancy (Teal) Colbert. 

Larry was a 1976 graduate of Scotland School for Veteran’s Children. Before enjoying retirement, Larry was a forklift operator at various companies with the most recent being with Ventura, in Chambersburg PA. He was a member of the Elks Laurel Lodge #133 of Chambersburg, I.B.P.O.E. of W, past Exalted Ruler. 

Larry loved his grandchildren and especially hanging out with his grandboys. He was known for taking rides to the mountains. He loved to cook on the grill and enjoyed baking. He was a natural mechanic that could fix anything.  He was a  die-hard Cleveland Browns fan and also enjoyed watching the Philadelphia 76’ers. In his younger days he was a basketball star and he considered going into the Army to play overseas.  

Larry is survived by his children Larry Colbert Jr (Jennifer) of York PA, D’Jaron Ferguson, Chambersburg PA, Te’juan Reeder, and Cedric Reeder, both of Cincinnati OH. 9 grandchildren,  Trevon Colbert (Lauren), Tiarra Colbert, Destyni Mackey, Sean Marshall, Tavian Ferguson, Alexya Scott, Isaiah Ferguson, Az’Nyiah Jefferson, Jionni Ferguson and 1 great-granddaughter Courtland Colbert. Siblings: Concetta Mitchell, Chambersburg PA, Vanessa Colbert, Harrisburg PA, Wayne Colbert (Darlean),  Nancy Watkins both of York PA,  Aleasha Colbert, Chambersburg PA, and a cherished friend, Norma Degarmo. Larry will be fondly remembered by his many nieces and nephews. Larry also leaves an aunt, Ludell Teal and uncle Johnathan Teal, numerous  cousins, and friends.   

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Juanita Colbert, brother Richard Colbert III, sister Kim Sease, and his niece Tanish Powell.  

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
