Linda M. Kirkland

Linda Marie Kirkland, 87, of Fayetteville, PA, passed away April 17, 2026. She was born May 25, 1938, in Seattle, WA, the daughter of Donald McKenzie and Gwendolyn (Cotes) McKenzie. Linda was a clothing tailor. She was a member of the Chambersburg Quilt Club and made quilts for a women's home. She also belonged to a mahjong and bridge group. Linda was a proud Navy wife, sharing in both the sacrifices and the pride that came with military life.

Linda is survived by her husband of nearly 70 years, Carey L. Kirkland; children Karen Cole and David Kirkland; grandchildren Ryan Cole, Ashleigh Paschal, Kimberly Valdez, Carl Kirkland and Jack Kirkland; great-grandchildren Brent Cole, Tucker Paschal, Savannah Paschal, Laylah Paschal, Callie Paschal, Hope Valdez and Nicklas Kirkland. 

She was preceded in death by her parents and siblings Alan McKenzie, Margaret McKenzie and Butch McKenzie. 

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, April 23, 2026, at 1:30 PM, at Kelso-Cornelius Funeral Home, Ltd., 725 Norland Ave., Chambersburg, with Chaplain Bob Murr officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 1:30 PM before the service. 

Private interment will be held at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery.
