Lloyd W. Gingrich went home to be with his Lord and Savior on August 9, 2023. He was the son of David C. and Fannie (Wenger) Gingrich. He was born on May 4, 1933, in Lancaster County. On May 23, 1953, he married Rachel W. Musser, daughter of Allen & Stella (Weber) Musser.
Both he and Rachel grew up in Lancaster County, they moved to Franklin County in September 1953 to serve at South Mountain T.B. Sanatorium for two years in lieu of serving in the military. While serving at South Mountain he and Rachel made many friends. When his term of service was finished, they were given the opportunity to start farming. They rented a farm in the Fayetteville area. Later they moved to Lemasters area and attended Williamson Mennonite Church. He was ordained assistant Pastor to Mahlon Eshleman at Williamson Mennonite Church. In 1980 the church moved to Mercersburg. He served the same congregation for 38 years. Lloyd also served on the Franklin Mennonite Mission Board for many years. After he retired from farming and pastor, he started Lo-Rae Ag-Bagging Services. He made many friends among the local farmers.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, and his son David Alan. Surviving is his wife of 70 years, Rachel, daughter-in-law Charlene (remarried to Brian Gingrich), daughters Rita (wife of Dean Geyer), Karen (wife of Scott Kane). He is also survived by one brother Marvin Gingrich, Ephrata PA. Six grandsons and 1 granddaughter. 7 Great-Granddaughters and 11 Great-Grandsons.
Interment at Mercersburg Mennonite Cemetery at the convenience of the family. Celebration of Life Service will be 11 am at Mercersburg Mennonite Church on August 19, 2023.
