Lowell S. Baer, 76, of Chambersburg, Pennsylvania passed away February 9, 2020 at Manor Care Nursing Home. He was born on June 30, 1943 in Chambersburg, Pennsylvania to Henry and May (Hess) Baer. He was a truck driver all of his working life. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving from 1967-1970 in Frankfurt, Germany. He loved horses and indian powwows.
He is survived by three step-children: Jack (Donna) Wetzel of Chambersburg, Robert (Clara) Wetzel of Big Cove Tannery and Mary (Kenneth) Wetzel-Wolfe of Mercersburg. He has 12 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren, and several great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Gladys Eader Baer and two brothers, Henry Jr. and Leon, and a step-daughter, Susan Weagley.
Funeral services will be conducted Thursday at 2:00 PM at the Kelso-Cornelius Funeral Home, Chambersburg with Rev. Darrell Baer officiating. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 6:00 till 8:00 PM at the funeral home and one hour prior to the service on Thursday. Interment will follow in Norland Cemetery.
