M. Jean (Smith) Horn

M. Jean Smith Horn, 92 passed away Friday, September 16, 2022 in Erie, Pennsylvania.  Born on September 9, 1930, in Chambersburg, Pennsylvania to Norman and Sarah Haulman Smith and was the youngest of 10 children.  She graduated from Chambersburg Senior High School in 1949.
She worked for many years at Worth’s Ladies Fashion Shop where she loved designing and decorating their display windows.  She also worked for Long Jewelers in downtown Chambersburg.
She was a past member of Falling Spring Chapter 139, Order of the Amaranth.  She was a member of the Zion Reformed United Church of Christ in Chambersburg for more than 70 years.  She enjoyed collecting antiques and was especially fond of Ruby glass.  She was an avid fan of Penn State football and attended many games with her family.  She moved to Parkside North East retirement community in 2015 to be closer to her daughter and family.
She is preceded in death by her husband Glenn Horn, daughter Brenda Kay, five brothers; Paul K., Jacob A., Arthur H., Ralph H. Smith, and Norman W. Smith and three sisters; Helen Briggs, Louise Walker, and S. Irene Hultin.  She is survived by her daughter Cathy Horn McDavid, husband Mike, from Erie, PA and grandson Michael Walker McDavid from Pittsburgh Pennsylvania.  Also surviving is her brother Robert L. Smith of Chambersburg, PA and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services with be held at 11 am, Thursday, September 22, 2022, at Kelso-Cornelius funeral home, Ltd., Chambersburg, PA.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.  Interment will be at Norland Cemetery.
