Marlin "Mick" Armstrong Obituary

Marlin “Mick” Armstrong, 84, of Chambersburg, PA, passed away June 15, 2026. He was born July 8, 1941, in Chambersburg, PA, the son of Kenneth “Ted” and Mary (Garns) Armstrong. He played baseball and softball for many years. His favorite team was the Yankees, and as a child he gained the nickname “Mick” after Mickey Mantle. Mick was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing. He worked for 42 years at Mack Truck in Hagerstown, MD. He loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. 

 

Mick is survived by two children, Ginger (wife of Steven) Jeannotte and Michael (husband of Sonia) Armstrong; three grandchildren, Ashley, Makenzie, and Emma; great-grandchildren, Riis, Killian and Evangeline; brother Richard “Dick” Armstrong. 

 

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Shirley A. Armstrong, who passed away in 2021. 

 

A celebration of life will be held on Friday, June 26, 2026, at 7:00 PM at Kelso-Cornelius Funeral Home, Ltd., Chambersburg. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service.
